About the Challenge

The Challenge begins May 1 and runs through September 30. You can sign up at any time during the challenge for a chance to win prizes.

How to Sign Up – It’s fast and easy!

  1. Click the Sign Up link on any page
  2. Complete the registration form
  3. Log in to your account by clicking the Log In link on any page and start recording your ride sharing activities

Logging Your Activities

Logging activities is necessary to increase chances of winning monthly prizes and grand prizes. Each participant should log their own Challenge activities in their account through the “Log In” feature. Logging activities should be done regularly as only the past 14 days of activities are used for bi-weekly prize drawings. An activity is equal to a one-way trip. Carpooling to and from work counts as two carpooling activities. An individual may log up to 6 activities per day.

Rules & Eligibility

Any commuter working in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York Counties is eligible for the Challenge.

All Participants must make the Share the Ride Challenge pledge in good faith, and must log an account of ride sharing activities to win the prizes listed below. Individuals who do not have access to the Internet may submit a log of their activities to be entered by a “trustee” – an individual within a business that assumes responsibility of entering the data.

Prize List

  • $50 Double-Dog Dare Referral Prizes
    Whenever you challenge a friend that signs up and logs and activity you’ll qualify for a chance to win a $50 gift card at the end of each month during the challenge. Winners will be announced on the first Monday of every month.

  • Dine Out Prizes
    Bi-Weekly prizes - $15 restaurant gift cards for participants with the most logged activities. Winners announced Monday mornings.

  • Carpool/Vanpool Prizes
    Randomly selected individuals who carpool or vanpool will win $20 gift cards. Winners will be announced on the first Monday of every month.

  • Transit Prizes
    Randomly selected individuals who use mass transit will win bus passes from their perspective transit authority. Winners will be announced on the first Monday of every month.

  • Grand Prizes
    Two night-out grand prize packages ($250 value each) will be awarded at the end of the challenge to the participants with the most logged activities and the most miles taken off our roads at the end of the challenge. Winner will be announced September 30.

  • Share the Ride Champion Business Prize
    Awarded to the business with the most employees with logged activities at the end of the challenge will win a plaque and receive a free website link for the year.

*All 2009 Share the Ride Challenge prizes are the sole responsibility of The Air Quality Partnership of the Susquehanna Valley. No grant funds are used to underwrite the prizes for the Challenge.
